Artist's Comments

After 8 edits of the incomplete version of Mixel - I think this can be added here, 100% done.
I'm done with all of the levels, and what few bugs I know of are so weird I just can't be bothered - they're hardly noticable anyhow :)

So mehopes that people enjoy it, let me know what y'all think :D

Nice but way too hard.

Thank you, and yeah - it did turn out quite hard xP

Why be difficult, when with a little effort, you can be impossible?

Note: I was playing on easy.
The scorpionboss's whateverinvicibleslashfromnowhere is so "fun", suddenly I just.. Die, nothing seems to hit me, but I die. I think you die from fear if you jump over scorpion too.

Movie clips come out square. hitTests works for the whole movieclip.
If you know a way to fix it, I'll do just that - otherwise... Well, there's nothing I can really do.

Create a movieclip (for example a small square), give it a instancename "hit" and add .hit. to the code (for example _root.mixel.hit)
That's how it should take the hittest from only the hit-area instead the whole 'clip :3

I don't understand, move the code into another movieclip - what's that going to do? :S

Nah, not move the code, but move the action what the code does.

Eh, hard to explain :S well..
It won't note the collision from air above it but only the area you want it to note, if you make it tiny area and put it into a scorpion's tail, you can touch everything but the tail of the scorpion without dying
it moves the collision from the main movieclip to the movieclip inside it, thus allowing you to manipulate the shape and/or position of the collision.

I don't know if you already did it with trees or just put a platform behind the trees but it's the same concept anyways, you want to get through the tree's brown part but not the top, same with scorpions, you want to go through the air above it, but not the scorpion itself.

You're using flash right? What version? If I got time I could make a simple simple hittest thing where I explain that if you want.

Yeah, I am doing that with the trees. And I see what you mean now with the movieclips... Hmmm... 'Tis a good idea.
I'll implement it later on when I get a minute. Thanks :)
